How To Roast Garlic
Sweet caramelized Roasted Garlic.
Roasting Garlic is very easy. Try to get large or jumbo size Garlic Bulbs for roasting. Organic is even better. The roasting process makes the Garlic sweet and caramelized.
Roasted Garlic is great in mashed potatoes, dips, spreads, pastas or just spread some on a crusty baguette. Simply earthy and wonderful!
ROASTED GARLIC
Ingredients:
2 Garlic Bulbs
4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
2. Remove any loose “paper like” outer layers from the Garlic bulb.
3. Cut the top end off the Garlic Bulbs to expose the Cloves.
4. Place each Garlic Bulb on a piece of aluminium foil. Drizzle 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil over the top of each of the Garlic Bulbs, and let it run down into the cloves.
5. Wrap each Garlic Bulb individually in foil, wrapping in an upward motion as you see here. This will keep the Olive Oil from running out. I also set the individually wrapped Garlic Bulbs on a sheet pan in case any Oil runs out and also because it makes it easier to remove them from the oven. Place the sheet pan in the preheated oven and roast for 40 minutes.
6. Allow the Garlic to cool, in the aluminium foil. Once it is cool enough to handle, simply squeeze the contents right out of the skin. The Garlic is now ready to add to your dish.
