Bowtie Pasta with Ham and Peas

Share

A simple, yet elegant Pasta dish.

This Pasta is easy to make and if you already have leftover Ham, this is a great dish to use it in. I use unsalted Butter and I do not add any extra salt in this recipe. The Ham is the star of the show and it really has all the smoky, salty flavor that this Pasta needs.

Simple ingredients that come together quickly make this dish easy to serve to guests or family.

BOWTIE PASTA WITH HAM AND PEAS

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Smoked Ham, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 & 1/2 Cups Frozen Peas
  • 10 Ounces Bowtie Pasta
  • 1 Cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/2 Cup + (more for garnish) Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Yellow Onion, diced
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Ground Black Pepper

Directions:

1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the Onion and saute until tender.

2. Cook the Pasta according to the package directions for al dente Pasta. When the Pasta is done, turn off the heat, the Pasta can remain in the water.

3. Add the Heavy Cream and Pepper to the skillet with the Onion and Butter. Whisk over medium heat for about 2 minutes. Stir in 1/2 Cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese. Stir and cook just until the sauce starts to come to a boil. Reduce the heat and stir in the Frozen Peas and the Ham.

4. Drain the cooked Pasta and fold it into the Sauce. Continue to cook the Pasta in the Sauce for about 3-4 more minutes or just until everything is heated through and the Sauce has thickened slightly.

5.Transfer the finished Pasta to a pasta serving bowl and garnish with Parmesan Cheese.
